supportive slippers

My achilles tendons are a major problem (seeing the physio all the bloody time!) so I need a pair of slippers which are not dead flat, but will raise my heel and be properly supportive. In an ideal world I would like them not to look completely frumpy or cost an arm and a leg! Quite like the look of some Camper slippers but just don't want to pay £35 for them... Where do I start??

If you think £35 is too expensive you probably will balk at my suggestion but I will offer it anyway. I have a pair of Haflinger clogs which are a bit frumpy looking but Ooooohhhh, they are the most comfortable thing I have ever put my foot into. I have problem feet (flat feet and post bunion surgery) and wearing these is more blissful than having no shoes on at all. If I've been out walking all day and my feet are killing me I put these on and they feel amazing. They are around £50, depending on the design you choose. Link below with lots of different ones but they are the clog ones. They are sort of shaped like Birkenstocks inside but even more comfy.

Would like to add that they have lasted for years so well worth the price.

HOpe you don't mind me butting in, Havingkittens- they look lovely. How wide do they come up? I have very narrow feet (B width)- would they be too wide?

I have crocs, very comfy and supportive.

Gosh, it's hard to say. My feet aren't that wide and they are fine for me but they previously belonged to my grandma (this is how I discovered the joy of frumpy slippers as I probably wouldn't have chosen them myself!) who has very wide bunioned feet. We confiscated them because they were backless and we were worried about her falling down the stairs so I ended up taking them home.

I guess the best thing would be to either find somewhere locally that sells them if you can or, order them from Amazon who have a very good returns policy so you can try them on and send them back if they don't fit.

Thanks kittens... need to get along to our local shoe emporium and try some of these on - gulp! I have walked past this particular shop many times and dismissed them as out of my price range, but since I buy a pair of cheaper slippers every year, this may count as an investment...

These look great Kittens. Have just ordered the grey felt clogs with red hearts for my 18 year old for Christmas. She has low arches and wears supports in her shoes since summer. She has been asking for supportive slippers and these look perfect. Thank you.

Get some Fitflops. Cheap on ebay or in sales.
