Basques and bra sizes, sizing experts needed

i need to buy a low back basque to go with my wedding dress in 2 months. However i am having problems with working out the sizing and wondered if anyone who has bought a basque could help. Using the 'measure yourself' sections on the retailers website, they make me a 36C (measurements are 32 underbust and 38 bust). However i am of the 'do not darken the doors of the m&s lingerie dept' school and currently wear a 34G. They are a little bit roomy but I am still breastfeeding and with 4 months to go until i plan to stop, i dont want to buy any more nursing bras. but they are not THAT roomy. I am guessing based on my non nursing bras I am an F cup. With three young kids i dont have the option to go and get fitted and few places stock low backed ones anyway. i need to buy online. So given that a basque has to also contain your ribcage, would you go with the retailer sizing guide of 36C or the closest larger cup approximation from my current size which is about 38D. I know I only have to wear it for one day but i want to try to and get it right without incurring too many return postage charges.

I hope this makes some sense! One day my dream is to go to rigby and pellar but alas they dont do the style i need.

ignore those measurement sections, 99% of them are wildly inaccurate.

I have some basques and they are my normal bra size. so if you normally wear 34F then get the basque the same size.

Thanks! I should have explained the problem i have is that i cant find any low back ones in larger cup sizes so i was trying to work out the next best option. So i guess another question is does anyone know anywhere that does larger size basques with low backs?

Have you looked at Vollers?
They do lovely corsets.

Ooh Vollers looks nice. Nothing suitable for my dress but dont think dp would complain if i spent some money there another day!

That body might work. Not very sexy but as long as it keeps me contained that is all that matters Grin

I haven't tried the basque but have the Ava strapless bra and it's brilliant.
