Baby Style - why are girl's coats so naff?

I need to buy a new coat for fast-growing DD, 15 months but am at wit's end with the hideousness of High St girls' coats. Pink? CHeck. Shiny? Check. Padded? Check.

I just want a nice warm grey/navy/red classic coat - please help!

I second Zara. Monsoon have nice girls coats in at the moment and I bought a lovely lilac and navy wool mix coat with floral satin lining from none other than George at ASDA for the grand total of £10!

I actually tend to buy my DD Zara stuff on eBay. She has a gorgeous coat very similar to this

I bought DD a camel coloured coat in Zara the other day that feels like (but isn't!) cashmere. It's so stylish I'm jealous! She's only 6 weeks but I loved it so much I bought it in 12-18 so she can wear it next winter. Bloody expensive though-could get one to fit me for the same money in some places. (And if this one did fit me I'd wear it in a shot!)
