Mascara after eyelash extensions?

I had eyelash extensions yesterday and the salon said I need to use a 'water-based mascara'. Does anybody know of one? I asked them to recommend one, but they didn't know.

I also contacted Bobbi Brown (favourite make-up) and they have referred my questions to their 'scientists' so I think it could be a while.

And I want to buy some mascara today.

If anybody knows, I would be grateful - thanks Smile

I think I was told benefit does one, though don't hold me to that...

I think most non waterproof mascarras are water based. Regardless, I have always used any regular mascarra on my extensions.

You have to avoid waterproof mascarras as you need an oil based (rather than water based) remover for them and that interferes with the adhesive on teh extensions.

QueenofDead, can I ask how long your extensions are? Mine are 14mm and I think they might be a bit long. Feeling a bit Danny La Roux today...

I'm sure you look lovely Smile

I'm not sure of the length. The first time I had them done they took ages to get used to - they would flutter on my sunglasses and I felt really overdone so when I went back I got shorter. I am now back to the original length that no longer feel long.

Everyone I know who has them has taken a bit of time to get used to them.

Where i had mine they sold me a mascara that was oil free and an eyeliner, the brand was extend so maybe goggle it.

I didnt get on with mine tbh, they looked lovely but came off quickly i think despite using oil free make up i think my moisturiser, sun cream and conditioner werent.

Im going to try again but just have the cats eyes i think.
