need a coat that is properly rain proof.

My lovely winter coat is shower proof, not the rain that seems to be happening in the southwest. suggestions please on what to get that is actualy properly rain proof. even just makes would be helpful.

Two words - Merrell Wakefield.

They now also do a warm version (padded), I got mine last year and love it: knee length, does not look like it belongs up a mountain, properly, properly water-proof. I live in Scotland - need I say more ?

Problem with a wakefield is that an ZL is a 16. I like it but I am an 18.
