Help I never know what to wear for a night out I feel frumpy. I am size 14/ 16 . I cant wear heels so they are out. I am possibly a cello shape or an apple never sure? My figure hates are my midrif I havnt a very slim waist. I dont like leggings. My last night out I wore trousers and a tunic and flatish shoes, every other woman in the room had a dress and high heels on . I physically cant wear them as my back goes into cramps if I do. I wore dresses in the summer with flat sandals but i the winter this isnt an option. I dont do jeans either dont feel they suit my shape and dont feel comfy in them . Any ideas appreciated. I am 47 and fashion is beyond me!! but that doesnt mean I want to look frumpy either. I like clothing that doesnt date and suites me just not sure what that is any more. So please if you have any advice Im all ears. Thankyou.

I would wear this dress and pointed flats like this

kittydreamer · 03/11/2011 20:10

looks interesting tethersend but Zara clothing tends to come up small in my opinion and sometimes the largest of their sizing barely fits me. I like the styling thou might give it a look when Im shopping , thanks

What's your budget for a dress?

kittydreamer · 03/11/2011 20:58

I guess my budget would be about 80 to 100 pounds
depends how much I liked it and how much I was going to wear it. Might spend more in that case.

How about this?

kittydreamer · 04/11/2011 17:38

Stunning in red but shoes would be a problem looks like it would require heels. I cant wear them unfortunately due to a back problem . I do like the dress thou.
