Ok - am 10/12, boobs on the generous side. Can do deep-ish V or Grecian necklines best. Good legs. Something fresh and 'young' without being mutton - can do above knee with opaque tights (fashionable??) and high heels.
Favourite colours are blues and greys/silver. Prefer natural fibres or blend to all polyester. Up to £150, but the cheaper the better.
Early forties but look mid thirties

Have trawled JL tonight with little success. Anyone come across anything that might fit the bill??
Let me know if you have! Or share your best website leads I can go to.
(I don't expect anyone to trawl on my behalf)

TIA x

I like this. Although it's not one of the colours you mentioned.

And this

Or this?

dingdong3 · 02/11/2011 21:16

If it was me, I would go try on this
I'm a big fan of Warehouse and tend to get a new LBD in their sale every year. This doesn't look as good on the model as she has no norks but could look great in RL on someone with a decent chest. Black opaques all the way btw.

dingdong3 · 02/11/2011 21:18

Like that green one celtic Oasis seem to have some nice dresses in atm. Not a shop I've bought anything in over the past couple of years.

OOh - liking the green satin, celtic. Dingdong - the warehouse V looks a bit high, but like the shape - kind to the not-taught-tummy area....

what do you think of this? Bit dull?

OP posts:
mylovelymonster · 02/11/2011 21:42

Sprogger!!!!!!! Cowls look crep on me

OP posts:
dingdong3 · 02/11/2011 21:52

I like it but it's a bit prim for a night out - I'd wear that on Christmas day or for a meal out with DH.
How about this?

Tillyscoutsmum · 02/11/2011 21:58

how about this ?

mylovelymonster · 02/11/2011 22:08

Dingdong - very nice, great colour - sheer back.......bra arrangement?? Nude strapless?
Tilly - very pretty, but maybe I need assistance of shaping - otherwise high tendancy to resemble sack of tatoes.............

Thankyou all - lots of food for thought x

Yes lovelymonster, not sure about the bra arrangements - good point! I was not blessed in that department Envy. You could try it with a v plain black bra or a plain black support vest? Hard to know, you'd have to try it to see.

Amazed at the low supply of nice v-necked party dresses...lots of high necks out there atm. Good luck with the search and let us know if you get sorted Smile

mylovelymonster · 02/11/2011 22:26

this?

mylovelymonster · 02/11/2011 22:31

dingdong - thanks! Was thinking I may need to opt for control body stocking to keep in check any wobbly bits Grin
sadly too high a neck makes me look too matronly, but then I am a harsh self-critic, so need to get out & try - if the monsters let me...
Am hoping for Christmas party let-ma-hair-down a bit and maybe even stay over in hotel with my girlfriends (platonic....uhhumm). First time in at least 6 years!
Dress therefore critical as want to feel attractive, yet chic, yet able to do the Maccarena without splitting armholes.....
Lots out there........will let you know!!!

mylovelymonster · 02/11/2011 22:38

am drawn also to this..........

I meant this

I like the black one but it looks a bit long. I'd have it taken up a bit but love the top half of it - quite flattering I'd imaging. Funny enough, the phase eight one came up on another thread - both Tethers and I linked to it - it's lovely.
Good luck with getting out to try on...I haven't got into a shop to try something on for about 6 months! Pesky kids Grin

mylovelymonster · 03/11/2011 16:40

I do ALL my shopping on-line. I am either house or work-bound. This year's Christmas doo with the girls my aim - first one for years. Have to look and feel great!

Have decided I need something a bit chiffony - like the top bit of the black dress (Teatro?), but then with a floaty skirt, above knee, to wear with some opaques (pull-ups?) and my sale black suede peep-toe pumps which have been gathering dust since I bought them an age ago.
Anything a bit baby-doll-ish or empire-line with a-line or twirly skirt - maybe a bit of gathering/pleats going on??.

Am being specific as I have a distinct image in my head - don't know if my imagination or have seen something somewhere that planted the idea....

dingdong3 · 03/11/2011 17:49

I'm sure there's one out there....or you could order from the US if desperate!!

dingdong3 · 03/11/2011 17:56

Not exactly what you're looking for but I saw this just now and thought of you..
Really must go feed the children, but this is so much more fun Grin

dingdong3 · 03/11/2011 17:58

Oh dear, that Phase eight grey one seems to be out of stock...sorry Sad

mylovelymonster · 03/11/2011 18:16

dingdong - am feeding the monsters too! Those are both very much on brief - you are a marvel! I might go check out the PhaseEight website.....

Have been shopping today and agree there is nothing much out there that displays a bit of cleavage. Its all high necks.

I fancied embracing lace but there is very little
