Facial serums - do you use and are they any good?

I have heard rave reviews about serum in general on another website and was wondering what your experiences are. I'm 32, sensitive combo skin, very fine lines around eyes but nothing I'm remotely concerned about. I drink lots of water, eat well, use spf30 every day, go running 2-3 times a week and walk quite a bit too, don't drink excessively, drink hardly any caffeine and eat a healthy diet generally. Very light smoker (2-3 fags a week)- I know I would be better off without them but hey... Blush

What do serums do for you and what would they be likely to do for me? Smile Recommendations of products very welcome, the more budget the better!
TIA

Serums are great. They work under (usually) moisturiser & are like a problem solver. They are a finer texture & penetrate deeper into the skin. If you don't have a particular concern then go for something rich in antioxidants.

Boots Protect & Perform or whatever it's called. Really noticed a difference when I first started using it, and agin if I get lazy and stop!

Estee Lauder Idealist.....it is not cheap but sooooooooo worth it :)

Protect & Perfect makes me look better and makes my skin feel very very lovely.

Similar age and skin to you but have bad lines round mouth due to heavy smoking in my misspent youth.

i don't like protect & perfect, makes my skin feel v tacky. i do like olay regenerist (the original not the red one). it makes my skin feel lovely & smooth. don't know if it actually fixes wrinkles etc though.

No 7 Protect & Perfect or Olay Regenerist for me; both great. If I'm rushing in the morning and forget to put it on I really notice the difference. But I am 44.

BUT don't forget to put moisturiser over the top - it's a common mistake to assume serum replaces your moisturiser; it doesn't, it just enhances it.

Olay regenerist is good. Costs about £30 but you can get it for half the price on Amazon.

Thanks all. I bought a 30ml tube of Protect and Perfect serum on Ebay last night for £11.45, free postage - result! Smile There were plenty of similar offers on there if you're interested.

Combine, I'm sure you have plenty of misspent youth left in you! Wink
