I have long hair and I like wearing it up. I often wear it in a sock bun, which looks good. But I've been watching old Sex and the City episodes, and I love Carrie's hair at Charlotte's first wedding (to Trey). It was basically a HUGE bun on the back of her head.
I can see easily how I could style this look using the sock bun method, but I need to think what I can use for the sock bit. I've googled to see if I can buy a bigger donut thing but they don't seem to exist. I can't just add more socks because the hole in the middle gets smaller and then I can't get my hair though it in the first place, and it gets too heavy.
So my question is: can anyone think what I can make a big donut out of, that is light weight and crucially very easy to do - I am utterly inept with sewing etc.
