If I've imagined a dress, do you think you cold actually find something like it for me?

ok, I would love ti find a dress that sort of meets the description that I have dreamt up...

Black 'shirt dress', 3/4 sleeves, either button fastening (as you would a shirt obv!) or zip fastening, if zip, either front fastening or the dress has a collor and v neck appearance and big obvious zip fasteing at back. Not mini length, but rather knee / just past knee length. More fitted rather than gathered / flowing sort of fit?

anyone? And smaller the budget the better!

I actually have something v. similar in my wardrobe 'cept the sleeves are only half length but you could layer over a 3/4 length T.

Knee length (and I'm 5 11") and in a decent heavy cotton fabric that's washed really well, it's one of my fav dresses. It's from sticky fingers, concession in house of frasers. I bought mines yonks ago but I think they do a variation every year.

ooh, just googled them and it says they have a new websirte coming soon, nothing on HOF about them... thanks for the tip!

Maybe they've stopped selling through them it's been a while. It's a very perfect dress though, hope you find what your looking for.

There are long sleeved ones you could style with the sleeves rolled up? Such as this (although it may be too short).

HotBurrito1 · 29/10/2011 23:01

Oh Tillyscoutsmum my PC is running verrry slooowly tonight Blush Grin

noddyholder · 29/10/2011 23:02

not exactly what you asked for but I tried this on and it is such a flattering cut sort of crepey and relaxed but quite smart and stylish. Am going back for it

UterusUterusGhali · 29/10/2011 23:27

La Redoute.

You can roll these sleeves down a bit.

saw one similar in Hobbs yesterday , sorry don't have link
if i could hijack... does anyone know where I can get a 3/4 sleeve red dress, fitted, not quite body con - heavier material , boat or round neck, knee length....

greenbanana · 07/11/2011 12:46

@MrsGuy

There's this red one in Hobbs (only small sizes left though)

Or there's Mary Portas (neckline might be too low)

I like this one on ASOS (again may not be the right neckline)

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/11/2011 13:03

@mrsguy

oasis

not quite three quarter sleeves

possible sleeve issue again

groak · 12/11/2011 21:13

OoOOHHHHhhhh more lovely frocks... the Mary Portas one is nice but I'm a bit Hmm about the fact you can see the tummy on a stick thin model, my 16+ arse has no chance! also, again a bit... about the fact Mary Portas has ratled on about designing clothes for real wimmin that don't want freumpy clothes etc yet she seems to think women only want to dress up to size 16... Yep, you go Mary, that's really championing forward thinking for womens appearance and issues surrounding it...
