OMG what have I done?!? colour b4

Jumped on the mumsnet bandwagon and applied colour b4. Have been dyeing my hair for years and last time I remembered it was naturally dark brown. Have been going grey for the last twenty plus years (since I was 19). I can't believe how light it is gone!!! The roots are fairly white - not a hint of dark brown anywhere - and the ends are what can only be charitably described as strawberry blond.

Now sat with a dark ash blonde 8 wash semi colour developing. Fingers crossed.

Hope you are now washing out the dye to reveal a gorgeous glossy new colour

Well? How does it look? Please remember to stick to temp 8- wash colour. I.e. a one part one. Not a true semi/ 2 part or permanent 2 part for at least a week! Else it will re-oxidise and you will be back to black!

done the temporary colour and it is now slightly darker on the ends but still quite light on top - fringe is looking decidely ginger. Now deciding what to do next. Might do another colour b4 as the semi fades to see if I can get more colour from the ends.

I'm still gearing up to redye my roots so they are as dark.

Tatty has given me loads of advice, I'm tempted to gear up the courage to be fashionably dark instead of mistakenly.

Has anyone tried the one that transformed Liz Jones? Louise Galvin colour remover?

VivaLaSativa · 29/10/2011 19:30

I don't know how people can use colour b4, It smells so bad no matter how many times you wash it out. Loreal effassol is actually cheaper than the extra strength one and it works so much better, Without the horrid pong too. Didn't know Louise Galvin did one too.

totally such a shame you ended up back where you started. Was it a one- or two- part colour you used? Should only use a one- part one in the first week. You could try again. Or bleach it all. That's not as scary as it sounds if you just want to lighten it a little before re- colouring.

Doesn't look quite as dark this morning. Yes I used a one part 8 wash semi. Going to give it another go today.
