Boden Spring Preview

polyhymnia · 28/10/2011 12:00

For those who were asking a short while ago when the Boden Spring preview might start, I've just been 'clearing out' my email inbox and see I ordered several spring preview things for this spring on 11 November 2010.

So, if they stick to that pattern, not long now!

I am disappointed.

Nothing new- dresses mainly high crew necks which I don't suit, and sleeveless when I have flabby arms, and everything else is same old, same old.

In fact they have repeats of several items from previous season(s).

talkingnonsense · 29/10/2011 18:48

Am I being really stupid- I can't find the blue patterned dress that was on the email link?

polyhymnia · 29/10/2011 19:06

It's this I think:

Have ordered the rainy day mac in navy with the pink hydrangeas. Missed out on one in my size last year and really need something bum covering with a hood for when am pushing pram in the rain. Here's hoping it fits and is a bit waterproof...!!

RedwingWinter · 29/10/2011 20:27

Poly, have the lyocell dresses washed and worn well? I once had a lyocell skirt (not from Boden) and it was so bad it put me off anything made out of it. But I have been wondering whether to give it another try.

talkingnonsense · 30/10/2011 10:26

Thank you poly- not sure about it though!

polyhymnia · 30/10/2011 10:43

No, talking I'm not keen on it (the 50s shirtdress) myself because I know it wouldn't suit my ample figure.

On the lyocell dresses, only one of the 4 I have has been washed yet, for one reason or another. Will be washing the 3 summer ones soon before, sadly, putting them away so will let you know if anything untoward happens.

I agree with Northern, better priced this time round.

RedwingWinter · 30/10/2011 20:20

Thanks poly.

Dancergirl · 30/10/2011 21:48

I quite like the nubuck heels, summer wedges and a couple of tops.

Would agree the rest is pretty boring.

UterusUterusGhali · 30/10/2011 22:13

Redwing-I bought 4 Blush lyocell dresses from them last winter and the one I wore most often (Black for work) ripped terribly under the 'pits after about 15 wears. It wasn't too small, just v thin.

I don't see why the jersey tea dress is £35 more than the casual jersey dress.

I'm still bitter that I missed the cosy Parker this year.Angry

UterusUterusGhali · 30/10/2011 22:17

Ooh suede knot wedges & nubuck heels WILL BE MINE!Grin

(Once the sale starts in Autumn)

polyhymnia · 30/10/2011 23:34

uterus on the jersey dresses think it's probably because the 'casual' one is what they call 'slub' jersey and so likely to be very thin material (which should be fine for holidays etc) and the other is 'normal' viscose + elastane.

Noticed that the 'weekend' tunic is similarly cheaper than the rest and it too is described as 'slub'.

Hope my lyocell dresses wear OK - luckily did get 2 in the sale so were v. cheap. And one as a COTD. But stlil ...

OP posts:
mirpuppet · 31/10/2011 07:26

I now it would be a nuisance; but won't boden refund for any clothes that wear so badly? 15 wears for a dress is not very many.

UterusUterusGhali · 31/10/2011 07:38

They gave me a credit note, mirpuppet. That I spent on leopard print shoes.Grin
I still need a work dress.

I see, poly. Makes sense now.

SeeLyon · 31/10/2011 08:45

Northern - where typo?

ameliagrey · 31/10/2011 09:43

I'm thinking about the

Santorini dress- in grey or navy. What cardi would you wear with the grey? Is the trim yellow or green?

or the
Chic jersey Dress - might be frumps- not sure.

STILL can't get over looking at SUMMER clothes in October when i am still buying autumn and winter clothes.

RedwingWinter · 31/10/2011 18:39

Thanks uterus, that's useful to know. Glad you got a credit note. The shoes sound fab :)

Northernlurker · 31/10/2011 19:44

Seelyon - it's described as a plait trim trop! Now I know it's Boden and they are whimsical with names but I don't think they mean 'trop' Grin

SeeLyon · 31/10/2011 19:46

TROP! i see. haha

Northernlurker · 31/10/2011 20:02

Have just rung and pointed it out - I'm stroppy like that!

brokenlady · 04/11/2011 07:13

Can anyone tell me what the 20% discount code is? I click on the link but nothing happens.
I love a bit of boden but was disappointed with the current AW collection. Bought DS a fleece top and DD a skirt and a couple of tops. For me, just the hamptons T and a cropped cardi.
There are a few things I like in the spring preview though. The messenger bag in old gold, the favourite v neck cardi in green, the round neck favourite in fennel and the stripe tunic which will work as a dress on me as am very petite. Also like the summer wedges and the clogs with heels.

hattymattie · 04/11/2011 09:43

It's PRUK Poly - happy shopping!

I love the deauville jacket but as somebody with wide shoulders I think it's a no go. It also looks very short.

Puds86 · 24/11/2011 14:26

I just tried to use PRUK and it is now down to 10%! I wish they would not reduce it so quickly :-(
