Any suggestions for Boden-like online stores?

Hi Guys

I have been a faithful Boden shopper for years but fancy a dalliance elsewhere? Anyone got any suggestions?

I find Boden is just everywhere now and their spot/leaf patterns etc just too much.

Where are other yummy mummies shopping?

xx

Great PLains and Mint Velvet both worth a look

GrapefruitGirl · 28/10/2011 15:39

Thanks Gillybobs - will take a peek.

Any other ideas out there for a wannabe 40 year old yummy mummy?!? X

Swimwear, jeans, basic tees and fleeces - Lands End
Knitwear - Woollovers
Generally - Poetry

polyhymnia · 28/10/2011 16:17

Wrap - same company as Poetry but a bit trendier.
White Company??
Isabella Oliver ?

scotgirl · 28/10/2011 16:45

I I'm liking some on the Kew stuff at the moment - got a fab cord skirt in the sale recently

scotgirl · 28/10/2011 16:45

Thought Mint Velvet was looking a bit drab this season

PerryCombover · 28/10/2011 16:46

I was unaware of wrap or poetry

meditrina · 28/10/2011 16:50

Wrap also about 3x price of Poetry.

I didn't know they were the same company.

Traidcraft is also good for accessories and scarves, and sometimes their clothes (bit variable), plus the other stuff in the catalogue is good quarry for presents, and you can feel good that it's an ethical company.

GrapefruitGirl · 28/10/2011 17:14

Thanks guys. Will have to surreptitiously look at the web whilst DH out of the room!

I have always looked at Isabella Olliver but never ordered as seems quite pricey. Is it worth it?

Have a lovely weekend! (as she uncorks the bottle, wine o'clock) x

Hi GrapefruitGirl. I had a catalogue for a company called saltwater dropped through my door the other day. There appeared to be a few nice things..
I like the look of the accessories, and the fair isle chunky knit.
Code for 10%off is AWA-I think!

clairemb12 · 29/10/2011 13:55

I love joules x

Liveinthepresent · 29/10/2011 14:37

Agree Joules is good.
Also can vouch for quality of isabella oliver - though its quite a different look to Boden stuff! I think actually if you are happy with Boden prices you will find IO good value - I normally await discount codes.
Have been eying up Wrap myself - but not ordered yet - how do others think this fares for Value for Money?

gramercy · 29/10/2011 15:03

I love Saltwater - but horribly pricey.

Agree about Boden - went to Dorset for a few days and I have never seen so much of the stuff. Joules was a bit too much in evidence, too.

TantePiste · 29/10/2011 18:15

j. crew. and anthropologie are better known than boden in the states and you might find them appealing. looks like they do ship internationally.

scotgirl · 29/10/2011 18:35

Anthropolgie have UK stores now - one in Regent Street and in Edinburgh prob more...

talkingnonsense · 29/10/2011 18:38

Just wondered...do you wannabe 40 or wannabe yummy?! Cos I can't reccomend the former... I quite like Brora ( wait for sale) and rampant sporting.

polyhymnia · 29/10/2011 19:04

Have a few pieces from Wrap which I enjoy wearing because they are a bit special and I rather like their overall look.

But do think they're very pricey - in sheer value terms not as good as Boden, I'd say. I try to wait for sales but, as someone else said, their stock availability isn't very good so if I do wait tend to find my size in colour/s I wanted is sold out.
