Where can I get shoes that won't cripple my baby but won't cripple my bank account too?

Clarks seem to be about £40 for a pair of first shoes. This is ridiculous. How important is it that my baby has shoes that are measured by width as well as length?Anywhere cheaper that is still good quality?

shoes for kids dot co dot uk, clarks etc, but more reasonable prices

I take them to clarkes to be measured and write down the measurement. Then I go home, and get the clarkes shoes in exactly the right size from eBay! There are so so many people who have a child who wore them for a few days then had a growth spurt or who's child just refused point blank to wear them. So they are basically brand new £40 shoes that you can get for about £4!

I've bought some which were great, some less so, but I'm s bit of an eBay expert and can spot a bargain a mile off now.

Having said that, if your baby is an actual baby, or crawler, they might be better off in soft leather slipper things like Daisy Roots. Plus theyre cuter and cheaper.

Do you have any clarkes outlets near you? They still offer measuring services, etc for children, but they are priced around £18 to £20 a pair instead of £30. Still expensive but don't think there's much alternative.

You can check the clarkes website for outlets near you if you're not sure.

Thanks. There is a Clarks outlet. Baby is standing and very close to walking.
