Haircut Inspiration - help please!

I really need some help with my hair please. I hate it at the moment and have done for ages. Its thick and got a bit of a kink in it (plus 2 double cowns and a cowslick).

I don't have tons of time with it in the mornings as have DD who's nearly 2.

Any ideas or inspiration please? Visiting hairdresser on Friday (with DD who's also getting her hair trimmed!)

I've stuck a really horrible photo of me on my profile - i usually avoid the camera!

I'm tempted to go short and try to lose the parting as not sure it does much for me - maybe somethng like this:

www.ukhairdressers.com/style/index2.asp?R1=13366&month1=1&pg=1&styl1=Jo Hansford

or this?

Dh just said not sure about the first and the second one was ok - so he's being no help

I have cowlicks. I like the first haircut you linked to (Jo Hansford) but unless you want to develop a relationship with straightening irons I'd imagine it would be a nightmare. You need a really good stylist that comes with a personal recommendation to tell you (ie, find someone whose hair you love, on the bus or wherever, get details, go to that person!)

Liskey · 27/10/2011 12:33

Thanks for that.

I do have straightening irons (but have never actually used them) my hairdresser is lovely but seems heistant about suggesting anything new. Last time I went I said i'd grow it a bit longer but all i seem to do is tie it back.

what about a choppy sort of style? that way you just shove some product in in the morning and off you go?

or this sort of thing?

and you could also straighten both for a slicker look if you had more time

LesserOfTwoWeevils · 27/10/2011 12:56

Furball, I find that kind of style looks elegant on a model and a nightmare in RL?looks like either a terrible haircut or as if you've been struggling through gale-force winds.

Liskey · 27/10/2011 13:33

I did used to have it cut in a similar kind of style as i quite like them but as my hair is so thick it was very difficult to manage.

DH has now said he likes this but I'm not convinced as my hair is so thick

I took this picture to my hairdresser at the start of the month and I really love it - easy to style and looks good easily. I do use straighteners which I never used to and a big brush to blow dry it straight or else I can wave it up with styling products.

this

Liskey · 28/10/2011 13:26

That looks pretty how curly is your hair naturally? Mine just has the kinks in.

Mine is dead straight but has kinks at the base of my neck. I need to use product to get it a bit wavy but it still sits really nicely straight as well.
