Confused about shoe boots! Should I take these back?!

Have been looking for some shoe boots that I can wear during the day (so no high spindly heels!) with skirts and dresses. I feel that my flat riding boots now look a bit dated and want to look a bit more 'funky' Grin. I bought these on Saturday in River Island www.riverisland.com/Online/women/shoes--boots/ankle-boots/black-ankle-buckle-boots-598555

However, have shown them to my friend today and she thinks that they are more boots you would wear with jeans. Now feel confused Confused and don't know if i should take them back and start my search again! Suggestions for other shoe boots would be good too....

I probably wouldn't wear them with skirts, but I'm short...

These are nice but maybe a bit high.

I really like the ones Celtic has posted. Yours are nice too Rassy but I would probably go for something with a higher heel to wear with dresses.
However - I don't know your taste and style, and you don't know mine obviously, so if you like them and you think they look good, then wear them with pride!

Thanks for the advice. The New Look boots are too high!

Wedge lace up shoe boots always look good also Top Shop have a pair I'm coveting

apparently they come up small

Neither of those are shoe boots? Shoe boots are cut lower on the foot-they are just ankle boots. I got a suede pair from new look-same heel height as ones other poster linked too but far nicer. No good if you think they are too high though!

Clarks?

ThatsNotMyBabyBelly · 26/10/2011 20:16

low heel

I have similar boots OP, and wear them with skirts and dresses....but all with funky tights (no leggings as I'm not sure that would work). I also tuck in my skinny jeans too...........just go for it!

Thanks larakitten - think funky tights are the way to go so I don't look 'mumsy'!
