Expert views on high-top sneakers??

Some of you may have seen me agonising on another thread about short boots.

In parallel, am trying to decide on some sneaker-type shoes. As with boots, drawn to FitFlop because they are so comfortable. Was going to get these, or a plainer version of same thing:

But local shop-keeper who usually has good taste recommends these particularly - in this grey or dark blue:

Have never worn high-top sneakers so need to ask you S and B experts:

i What sort of jeans do they go/not go with? I have mainly but not all skinnies.

ii Are they too mutton-y anyway??

As much as I loathe all things fit flop I have to say the second hi top pair arent bad.

BUT I really think they look better with skinnies or boyfriendy type jeans. NOT bootcut or mumsy jeans

They are a good casual boot to wear with sloppy top half clothes and scarves etc

Love hi tops agree with cyb though has to be the right trousers

Hmm, don't possess mumsy jeans, I hope. Do have a couple of pairs of bootcuts which come out occasionally but wouldn't put those with high-top sneakers. My legs and ankles are slim, though rest of me isn't, so tend to go for skiny jeans plus tunics of various sorts.

May I ask how you'd wear them with skinny jeans - rolled??

PPS - also have lots of scarves - the MN one, but also Comptoir des Cotonniers, etc

Bump - I've rambled on long enough, I know but just to ask how people wear their hightops with skinny jeans - jeans rolled or not?

No I sort of tuck it in, like a legging. or a jegging

Right off to local shop in skinny jeans to try the FF ones out tomorrow.
