Tips for a 'wardrobe audit' - binning the old, ugly and mishapen items that lurk.....

I've got some lovely clothes hiding in there, but a veritable snow-storm of cheap cotton, ugly vests, weird beige knickers and the like. Also some gorgeous things from when I was younger/thinner/braver. Any tips for how to tackle the mountain? What is your 'binning' criteria. Is it worth selling stuff on ebay? Would like to be done and dusted inside 2 hours if pos.

They get called 'mum jeans' on here. They're probably the most flattering style for most people though. I had some amazing maternity skinnies and haven't gone back to bootcut.

Today, I have binned quite a few pairs of bootcut jeans and trousers. Most of them were too small (I reluctantly admitted my days of wearing size 8 moleskin trousers are well behind me) but a couple of pairs just looked too mumsy. A really well fitting pair of bootcuts can be very flattering and easy to wear. There were no such pairs in my wardrobe today!

I was pleased to rediscover a pair of high waisted skinnies that still look good (bought them prior to my last pregnancy) and a grey knitted waistcoat (nicer than it sounds!) that I'd forgotten about.

Anyway, I really have been ruthless today and feel good for it! I'm seriously lacking good basic t-shirts now, though! There's a bit more to finish off tomorrow but then I'll actually be quite organised!

Pre-pregnancy clothes.....

I took them all out of my wardrobe when the thought of them fitting was laughable, but kept those I loved, especially as most of my wardrobe is stuff that is beautiful and flattering as opposed to fashionable.

2 years on most are part of my wardrobe again :)

My question was always 'is it realistic that this in going to fit again' rather than 'does it fit at the moment'.

Prima Can you cut your jeans into shorts for the summer?

A friend of mine did some crafty surgery on all her bootcuts, She unpicked each leg seam up to the knee, then cut some material off to make a slimmer leg IYKWIM.

They don't look great on their own but are now slim enough to tuck into a long boot which is what she was after.
