Black wedge boots quest

trixymalixy · 20/10/2011 21:35

I'm searching for a pair of long black wedge boots to wear with work dresses and trousers so not too high, but don't want anything too mumsy and middle aged looking.

I love the fly let boots but they're a bit more than I want to spend.

Has anyone seen any nice ones?

I would give serious thought to a low heel, not wedges. Wedges can look soooo mumsy.

PrimaBallerina · 20/10/2011 23:19

I saw tons of wedges in the shops today. New Look will probably have some cheap ones.

Will consider a low heel, but really want a fly let alike boot.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried Amazon for Fly boots as the prices seem to fluctuate on there daily. Also they sometimes offer 20 % off footwear. I love Fly so would keep saving up for them as they are so comfortable.

I have looked on amazon. I'm watching a pair on eBay.

Dr martens do a black wedge boot. Might be more sturdy than fly and they're v comfy.

I had a fancy for the Dr Martens ones - leanne is the name of them but can't see them anywhere for less than RRP. Very.co.uk had them for about 90 earlier this week but all sold out now Sad

accessorizequeen · 21/10/2011 16:33

If amazon do them it's 20% off shoes at present. I just bought a pair of doc binky boots and they're fab. But cos I need a size 9 rrp!

Pigleychez · 21/10/2011 17:04

I got a nice pair from NEXT

Ooh I'm actually quite surprised by the dr martens wedges. I like!

BUT they are just as dear as the fly ones....

Are they really, I thought the fly ones were about £160 and docs are £100 on their site. Even with the amazon 20% discount, dr martens is cheaper. Don't understand mn obsession with fly when it seems they don't have a reputation for quality really, but then I'm not a boot person. The ones I bought first in many years, but I think wedge boots look great on others!

trixymalixy · 22/10/2011 11:10

it's these ones

Amazon don't do them. I'm not that keen on the authentic wedges which are the ones your thinking about, I think!

trixy, the link isn't working for me ... try this one
I really like the look of these. Even though I hate Dr Martens normally...think it's the shape of the foot and the lace up. Have been looking all week for a size 7 and they're back in stock today!! Have ordered them on account to be delivered to my local newsagents so I can sneak them home and just send back if not nice on...no evidence on my bank account for DH Grin

trixymalixy · 22/10/2011 14:09

I'm not a DM fan either normally, but I like those.
