I need a coat with hood suitable for keeping me warm & dry whilst pushing buggy!

Since you haven't put this under 'style and beauty', I'll recommend a proper Goretex walking jacket (eg Berghaus but there are loads of brands) with as many woolies or fleeces under as the weather dictates!

What's your budget? Are you tall/short large/thin?

right, some suggestions:

boden waterproof with a hood, but might not be warm enough for you...

topshop wool, so not not completely waterpoof, does have a hood, looks rather toasty

monsoon looks rather comfy and not mumsy...
