Jeans advice, please!

I'm hoping some kind people on here can tell me where I can find the sort of jeans I'm looking for. I'm a very low maintenance but not quite wolf fleece level 46 year old - greying hair and no make up, most clothes from M and S or Monsoon or (sorry) Boden, 5' 4", size 12 on the top and 14 on the bottom, but with a small waist pro rata so that most size 14 skirts are too big at the waist. I currently have a much loved pair of jeans that were (sorry again!) from Per Una - they have a waist at the natural position rather than low-rise, are the right length for me, dark indigo originally without any stonewashing or artificial ageing or diamante decoration or anything, and straight legged. I want to replace them with something as similar as possible, but when I last looked, everything in Per Una was either low waisted or bootleg or (mostly) both. Can anyone help, please? I'd be hoping to pay somewhere around the £30-40 mark if possible, but a bit more would be ok if they were just the right thing. Thanks in advance!

Have you looked in gap? They have a good range but they're a bit more expensive. I've heard good things about a style in ASDA, called "great bum" jeans.

Have you looked at the main M&S ranges? Their straight jeans sit on the waist and there are usually several colour choices. I wouldn't go for the very cheap (£12?) ones as they are too thin and stretch within half a day, but the ones at around £25 I find very good. I'm taller than you so I have the long ones, but they all come in medium and short as well. hth

Per Una roma jeans in boot-legged or straight.Fit the natural waist and at 5ft 3 i fit the short ones perfectly [appear to be longer than most M and S shorts].

I have a pair of the M&S Roma jeans from Per Una. I am 5'4" and they fit perfectly on my natural waist and they have a bit of stretch to them. Very comfy!

Gap, Next or M&S.

Try on loads of styles/sizes - I find the fit of jeans to be somewhat random, so I might try on 20 pairs before I find ones that fit and flatter. My problem is the "gaping waistline".

Straight-leg jeans with no hoo-hah are quite hard to find this season.

New Look have some - but they may be too low-rise. Esprit are often good and so are Oasis.

I bought some from per una just last week, rooms straight leg. I'm not a fan of per una but i'm really pleased with these jeans, was desp to get away from my boot legs but found others mainly too skinny for my chunky legs. I think these look good and they are v comfy to sit in too. They are bit too high waisted for me really but I don't tuck things in anyway so only I know. And just £30 too!

Thank you all - I will give the suggestions a go (when I can face it). Can't imagine trying 20 pairs on, Cointreau - obviously I just don't have enough motivation for all this - I too have the gaping waistline problem : (
Thanks again, everyone.
