It needs to be:

floaty
Suitable for a 14yo
long (3/4 length minimum)
can be glitzy but it's not essential

Age 14 or size 6

TIA

What's the occasion?

What's the budget?

Topshop

Debenhams

Coast

Aftershock

Informal dance competition
Under £35 (ideally but if it was perfect.....maybe)

Um the £175 might work but maybe a fuller skirt, the prom dress way too short

Hang on I'll look

This is the closest we can find but the seller is away plus it might be too short

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 19:49

Umm some of them are lovely

this one
this one not sure the skirt is full enough
too high waisted
too short

But there are two possibles there

OP posts:
TethHearseEnd · 19/10/2011 19:52

Too short?

KatyMac · 19/10/2011 19:54

Yes but lovely

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 19:55

I'll see if black will do it won't Sad

OP posts:
TethHearseEnd · 19/10/2011 19:56

I almost linked to that!

It's that, but in red, right?

KatyMac · 19/10/2011 19:56

I wonder if I could bead it or over lay it with red somehow?

I'm going to have to buy a pattern & make it aren't I?

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 19:57

That would be the dress or the same but with godets

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 19:57

I could put red (or maybe a big flower pattern) godets in couldn't I?

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 20:07

Thanks so much for your help; at least I know what she wants

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 21:58

cn anyone help me here?

OP posts:
TethHearseEnd · 19/10/2011 22:18

How about this which can be made in red?

Can't find the price though...

KatyMac · 19/10/2011 22:24

I have found some lovely patterns & DD is quite excited about making it ourselves

I started a thread in Arts & Crafts......but I'm talking to myself Wink

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 22:25

I think they are very expensive......

OP posts:
TethHearseEnd · 19/10/2011 22:25

Ah, can't help you there. I can't sew for toffee Grin

Good luck though; show me the finished article!

KatyMac · 19/10/2011 22:26

If we ever get there......

OP posts:
angelpantser · 19/10/2011 22:30

This one from ebay says it comes in red but it's not shown on the photographs. At £40 it's only a little bit over budget.

angelpantser · 19/10/2011 22:33

Or what about this one ebay again

KatyMac · 19/10/2011 22:36

The second one is further down the thread I think - it's too short I emailed the seller

The first one is just not 'floaty' enough

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/10/2011 22:51

Thanks

The best is the floaty & it wouldn't be long enough I don't think

OP posts:
KatyMac · 20/10/2011 09:52

now she says it doesn't have to be red; just in your face (& not black)

I give up
