Why does nowhere sell towelling dressing gowns?

Every shop I have gone in recently has those horrible polyester ones - does anyone know where I can get a boys towelling one?

And why have they all swapped to the fluffy ones?

Nice but a bit pricy

ShirleySharpeyes · 19/10/2011 14:45

MrsBradleyCooper · 19/10/2011 14:49

I used to be very attached to my old towelling dressing gown but couldn't get a new one anywhere so bought a 'fluffy' one in M+S. It's fab - so cosy and warm. I wouldn't go back now!

IKEA have some lovely thick towling ones - about £19 with FAMILY card

HipHopOpotomus · 19/10/2011 21:30

oh I don't know if they do kids sizes though

PhantomPAYNE · 19/10/2011 21:37

Dunelm. Went there the other day looking for towels and they have towelling robes in a variety of colours and sizes.

Angel786 · 19/10/2011 21:38

White company?

sprinkles77 · 19/10/2011 21:41

i have this. It says velours but is really light weight towelling. Is very very nice.

sprinkles77 · 19/10/2011 21:43

fuck sorry, just read you want for your DS. I suppose this is similar.

jamaisjedors · 19/10/2011 22:14

It's because they dry quicker [now converted for the DSs but NOT for me].

Well I think so anyway, for us, without a tumble dryer it beats 2 days of draping and turning on a radiator and still the armpits are damp.

Lucycarr · 19/10/2011 22:23

white company

CarlottaJ · 19/10/2011 22:24

had same problem, all fleecy robes everywhere, but then found this company online! Couldn't believe i'd actually found KIDS robes in towelling material!!!
Was bit wary at first about quality but robe was better than expected - result!

My usual answer. Try tk maxx

MadAboutHotChoc · 20/10/2011 14:06

Dunelm have some in lots of nice colours

CeliaFate · 20/10/2011 15:00

Dunelm Mill had some on sale from £34.99 down to £9.99, but adult sizes I think.

MrsBradleyCooper · 20/10/2011 18:45

Thanks all for your great ideasSmile

I ended up getting the striped White Company one - it's lovely. It was a bit pricey but I got it in a size bigger so that he can get away with it for a few years!

I'd definitely recommend it as it is lovely quality Smile

I've got one. It was from Per Una Grin
No mad buttons or waterfall front though. Just thick white towelling with pink bits on.

Mewsical · 03/11/2012 08:10

Christy robes last forever.
I you subscribe to the email and you'll get sale alerts around/just before Xmas time to buy them at a more reasonable price.

Wow, thanks for this old thread! It was the first hit on google - my kids needed these for swimming as it feels like the only thing you can buy is that fleecey stuff that's lovely and light and warm when you're dry already but freezing when you're wet. The Redoute ones looked great but in the end I went for the White Company.

chalkie34 · 31/12/2013 19:24
