Bit of a hair colouring disaster!

Right so it goes like this:

Am naurally medium blonde, but had blonder highlights for years. Looked nice. End of last year, had it professionally coloured to medium brown and liked this too but got bored and wanted to go back to blonder again so off to the hairdresser I went.

It went a bit if a weird lighter colour brown so I went back and second time around it went lighter again but has yellow tones to it and is still not light enough!! I hate it as it stands as it is neither here nor there if you get what I mean.

I have been using loreal professional shampoo and conditioner which is bright purple fit about a week as it is supposed to tone down the yellow but I've not really noticed any difference.

Am I going to have to go back to get it coloured a third time or is there something I can try at home? The blonde has been done as fine highlights, leaving some brown there also.

Help!!!

Is there not a product out that helps with home dying issues? It may be worth checking out Boots etc and doing a search. Otherwise I am clueless!

You need more bleach. You need a full head of proper bleach highlights, in a strength (volume) high enough to lift your colour to a reasonable tone. She/he might have to "tone" them once they are done but you simply need more. It will happen in time anyway, but if you are in a rush, book in for a full head of bleach highlights and make sure they "bring you up" to a reasonably light tone. I can see why they didn't want to bring you up too high initially as the first one or two sets of highlights can make you look pretty stripy and "black and white" if you go too "high".

But on your 3rd go she should be happy to bring you up nice and blonde and if she's not then go somewhere else. Keep up the purple shampoo but the real problem is that she's not bringing you up high enough with enough bleach.

Don't let em fob you off with a half head though.

Awww how rude of me after you took the time to reply to my post- thank you so much for this hair advice! i've only just found it again, so sorry Batty. I have just had my third go at the hairdresser, it is much more blonder now, am getting there. The only thing is, it still looks like yellowy blonde highlights as opposed to pretty blonde colour. Maybe i need more ash blonde bits through it too to match my natural hair colour as my natural colour isn't really warm in tone.
