Winter wedding AND my 40th - which dress?

OK, so I have a wedding and my 40th coming up so ideally would like to get a dress I could wear to both (completely different sets of guests!) NB - 40th is a party with dancing.

I have found these 3, which do you think? I am a size 12, 5ft 9 with dark hair and suit brights best so either colour would be good on me. A big difference in terms of comfort though I should think - the 3rd one would require some serious smoothing underwear :)

The red! As long as you don't mind being on show a bit as it is very low cut.

Not keen on the blue one. Get some higher power spanx and you will be fine :) Oh get the ones sized 8-10 as the other ones will do nothing. I wore size a as a size 12 and they worked perfectly :)

The red pencil dress, absolutely. The others aren't a patch on it.

Spanx wont go up your crack, they come to mid thigh.

I have the asos ponti dress, tis ver ver lovely and with your figure will look AMAZING, it has alot of stretch so tbh it pulls you in anyway. Try a flexee's onesie under it for max svelte effect...

Yes they are like giant shorts but very thin material and comfy.

Hmmm, it seems the red Asos one is coming out tops then! Will def put Spanx on Christmas list. Hadn't thought that the wedgie wouldn't be a problem with cycling shorts style!

Now to shoes - I am thinking either leopard or red? I have great trouble with shoes though, aside from the walking issue (where I feel & suspect I look like Bambi) there is also not wanting to tower above my husband too much & heels all seem to be maaaaasive. So any suggestions gratefully received, am off to look!

Nude shoes could work very nicely. What do you think of these?

Actually I quite like the second red one.

Either of the red ones. The blue one is a bit frumpy.

Lol, no obviously not those actual ones, was just wondering if you liked the style / colour / height. It's be a bit mad to have shoes 3x the price of the dress.
