Going to the palace......

PLease help. I am a somewhat unfashion concious person who will be accompaning my mother to the palace to get an CBE in three weeks. I am 6ft, sz 14 . I would like some form of jacket/dress or jacket/skirt combo but totally clueless. I would also like a funkyish hat. Anyone got any ideas where to start. I don't!

Tallergirl my advice would be whatever you choose make sure you wear comfortable footwear. I too was lucky enough to attend a similar function at the palace and not only do you have to walk quite a long way but also there is a fair bit of standing involved !
