Washing ugg boots......

I know this has been done before (have just been reading up on old threads)

I have some bailey button ones which are filthy. Dare I risk it? Any tips?

I'm scared!!!!

You can take them to most dry cleaners and they can clean them for you, it costs £20 in my local one. May be worth looking into rather than ruin them (not saying washing wouldn't work but I would be dubious of doing it).

lots of people have washed theirs so it seems on mn, but im nervous...can't affored to replace them, and they're not TOO bad...could use a wash, but not really desperate iykwim.

I washed my dds black baileys after she wore them in the snow last year and got white lines all over them. They looked like new when they came out. I did them on a wool wash and did an extra spin. It is definitely worth doing if they are dirty.

I then did my bearpaws after as I was so impressed!

Use woollite or ecover wool washing detergent and do them on a wool cycle :0)

Wool cycle or would a hand wash cycle be better? Is it about temperature or movement iykwim?

Watching with interest. Are you talking about the sheepskin ones or the woolly ones?

Can you put sheepskin in a washing machine?

Make sure you update the thread with the result. I might give mine a go if yours are ok.

When my DH bought me some Emu's, he also gave me a care kit. It has protective spray, cleaning spray and special sponge thingy.

I've just done my Emu's for the first time and am really impressed at how well they have come up. Now they are all clean and protected ready for the autumn.

I did my black suede ones in the washing machine a couple of days ago - 30 deg handwash prog, extra rinse, non-bio and fabric softener.

They came up lovely and they were totally scabby before they went in. Am pleased :-)

Ok. So I'll do them when the current washing load has finished.

If they fall apart you can all chip in for a new pair!

I did mine, they came out fine but the blardy big grease stain didn't shift and now I fear it has set for good :(

Wellllllll. I did them.

They are soaking wet obviously, but have stuffed the toes with newspaper to shape them and have put them to dry. They look fine, and feel so soft and nice.

Will report back again tomorrow.

Stuck now as to what to wear around the house. I wear them with my jamas.

Might have to don some fluffy socks and dust off the old crocs!!!

I've done mine today too! Still wet so can't tell properly if they are ok. Seem fine and smell has 100 % improved! Can still see small grease stain in them where I dropped a bit if oil a few months ago but didn't expect that to come out tbh

I've done mine and they look ok but the toes and heel bit are slightly misshapen so I've stuffed the toes with paper and hung them on the round thing at the end of the banister on the stairs !!! Just praying they dry ok

Emus have removable insoles - it might be worth removing the insole (don't know if Uggs are the same) in order to speed the drying process.

looking good this morning...drying right out. the insides are still really damp, so will leve them off today.

had a sneaky try on a minute ago...they've tightened right up, which is fine.

i'm pleased so far!!!
