H&M - horrid & poor choice.
Next - horrid and overly branded.
M&S - horrid & babyish.

All DS's opinion I hasten to add. And I don't want one with a fur trimmed hood, hate them!

Where else for boys?

I feel you pain I really do. I too had been looking for my 9 year old ds2. I wanted the feather and down one again this year from GAP. Sadly it was always out of stock in his size same story for the only one I liked in Pumpkin Patch. In the end I got one in a nice Blue from next. The choices out there for boys is awful this year. I had even worse trouble finding one for ds1 and ended up paying more ££ than I had wanted in sports direct.

bought a dream coat fro DS (9) at Debenhams this year. Black but inside hood is beige (and very soft lining!)

it's much nicer than it looks online:

one of the reviewers says it's fur lined, but it isn't, it is fleece lined. It's just the really soft soft soft kind of fleece.

Let me know if you get it!

I got ds's in TK Max - in the skiing section! Much better than in any 'fashion' dept. I was about to go to an outdoors shop as they seem so much more useful (aibu in wanting a waterproof warm coat for my dc :) )
