ASOS-yay or nay?

Am currently looking for a job and need to update my wardrobe. I saw Asos linked to a couple of times in the past. It looks nice, but what's the quality like? It seems too cheap for what it's suppose to be.

Its the equivalent of Topshop online....but also has a Marketplace for independent Boutiques. I've always been happy with the price/quality, you get what you pay for..

I used to buy a lot from there. Last few purchases I've sent back because of poor quality.

I have found some of their stuff to be great and others rubbish. I also think their own brand stuff sizing is a bit off, so order a couple of sizes.

For good quality, similar style/price I like MANGO and ZARA.

I've only used it once and ordered 3 things. I sent them all back because the quality wasn't that great. I think the sizes are on the big side too (it was own-brand dresses I had ordered).

Having said that, I was very impressed with how easy it was to return things. It didn't cost anything, and I had been refunded within the week.

I think the own brand stuff is a bit on the thin quality side. but if you were looking for layering pieces they'd do ok. they usually have decent discount codes kicking around so their 'named' ranges often work out cheaper than buying direct. also free delivery and returns mean no hassle. next day delivery too.

I've only had a few things from there, all dresses, and have been very pleased with the quality. Have bought this and am very pleased with it.

Some of their own brand stuff is poor quality but it's a great site all the same.

Returns are free so why don't you order a load of stuff (enough to get free delivery) and see what you think.

Hmm, there isn't a clear consensus about the quality. Might order few things and see. I've always worked in places where I could dress in whatever I wanted to as long as it was designer/high fashion but now I need more settled clothes (I think, God knows whether I'll even find a job )

Anyone bought from ASOS Marketplace? here interested as i've seen a few nice things...

The biggest plus for ASOS is that they do free delivery and free returns, so you can order things in a variety of sizes/colours and send back what you don't want.

Quality is patchy; I find their really fashiony items to be average but I've had some astonishingly good basics.

A pair of cashmere-mix leggings cost me less than £20 a couple of years ago and they're still going strong while Topshop etc have all lost their shape in a couple of months.

Very poor quality in my opinion. Worse than Topshop.

Own brand is a bit hit and miss as others have said but free returns so you can order a ton of stuff and send the rubbish back.
Also their dresses tend to favour the shorter lady, a few of their dressed work as tunics for me. although I notice that they have started to add the models height to the description which gives me a good idea of how short it will be.
The clearance section is always worth a look, they mark down quite a bit.
