Where do you shop for your 8-10 year old boys?

I'm Bodened out and, more importantly, so are they. To many prints and a bit young for their ages now. Am specifically looking for tops but it would be nice tom have them not wear jeans all the time too! Gap is okay but my boys are tall and lean so Gap tops can look sloppy on them. Have checked out Fat Face, John Lewis and Marks. Don't like Next. Oh, and I'm talking everyday wear so not Timberland!! Thanks.

H&M and Zara are fantastic for this age group and both cut quite slim (I have a tall and very slim 10yo). Great for hoodies, cargos, slim jeans and long sleeve t's. I still buy him Boden slim fit jeans as they fit so well and arent obviously Boden iyswim

HTH

Im in the position where my 10 year old hasnt fitted in 10 year old clothes for the last year or so, so Im now completly stuck! as the clothes i did like dont cater for above 11-12 years. He used to have alot of Joules stuff and Boden had run its course.

Ive just bought him some tops from zara, jeans i get from gap or marksies. he wasnt keen on any trousers in zara.

we both went into H&M the other weekend and left with nothing, i had such hopes but it was awful.

My ds 9 likes quite a few things in River Island , would also recommend Zara.

snowballinashoebox · 11/10/2011 14:55

found some good stuff in Debenhams, good for hoodies, t's and tops.

My 10 year old does love his boden jeans got them in the sale so not so bad and they are well made, stand up to the skating, bike grease etc.

I had no idea anywhere sold 8-10 yr old boys. Are you sure it's legal?

Millie1 · 11/10/2011 22:55

I second river island, they don't have a lot of children's clothes but what they do have is really nice

SoupDragon · 12/10/2011 08:05

Debenhams (Blue Zoo and Red Herring mainly) and H&M.

SoupDragon · 12/10/2011 08:07

The variety of jeans in Debenhams is fantastic. A good selection cuts/styles with nice details.

ChasingSquirrels · 12/10/2011 08:08

Tesco & Asda

madammecholet · 12/10/2011 08:16

H&M are great for jeans/trousers, Joules for tops/hoodies, Zara for slim fitting stuff and also Sainsburys TU has some good hoodies/tops now and again.

KWL51 · 12/10/2011 10:57

h&m mainly, but he likes skatewear as well, so dc, vans and etnies. These i tend to buy in local skateboard shop. Not much comes up on ebay unfortunatley.
I like Boden for him, but he doesnt like boden anymore apart from the odd pair of jeans.

talkingnonsense · 12/10/2011 11:01

My friend totally reccomends hollister if you can bear the dark, and look for the sale.

Ragwort · 12/10/2011 11:02

Charity shops or hand-me-downs Grin.

Parasaurolophus · 12/10/2011 19:45

Lands End is good for basics

accessorizequeen · 12/10/2011 20:42

What about Katvig and the like? Tend to be pretty skinny fit on the tops so might suit? I would love to buy a Viking Danafae top for my nearly 8yo and he would love it! Viking Kids or lots of places stock Danish design now.

eatyourveg · 12/10/2011 21:14

H&M M&S Gap and LaRedoute

daisie4 · 12/10/2011 22:03

My ds likes Plain Lazy and Weird Fish, plus Gap.

Millie1 · 12/10/2011 22:33

Looking at these now, thanks - have ordered a couple of tops from Debenhams and like some of the Hollister stuff.

I would have thought Holister too big for 8-10 yrs

Northumberlandlass · 13/10/2011 07:42

H&M...the odd thing from Boden in the sale. Refuse to pay their prices for everyday clothes.

90% of DS clothes are from H&M - I love it.

I buy the odd thing from Fat Face too (sale only).

tothemoonandback · 14/10/2011 08:10

Lands End is brilliant for boys stuff.
