Where do I find hoodies with thumb holes for children?

DD will be 5 next month and the only thing she has asked for is a hoody with thumb holes!

Has anyone bought one of these recently and if so where from?

Ideally not too expensive - It's only a jumper! I found one in House of Fraser (think it was a Bench one) but £40 seems a bit steep for a 5 year old. Or maybe IABU and it's not that expensive at all Hmm

Thanks in hope

:)

Have you tried H&M? DS has a fleece from there with thumbholes. It's not a hoody though but they might have more...

nailak · 10/10/2011 22:21

i dont get it, hoodies with thumb holes?

daenerysstormborn · 10/10/2011 22:22

ds has also had a zip up hooded fleece from h&m with thumb holes, was a few years ago though.

daenerysstormborn · 10/10/2011 22:23

nailak, they kind of have extra long sleeves with a thumb hole in it so the sleeve covers than hand.

HerdOfTinyElephants · 10/10/2011 22:24

Petit Bateau tend to do them, but they are quite pricey.

Redbluegreen · 10/10/2011 22:27

Adult Helly Hansen stuff does, not sure if the kids does too?

MurderBloodstabsandgore · 10/10/2011 22:28

you might get a cheap Bench one in TK Maxx.

Agree try H&M.

keepingupwiththejoneses · 10/10/2011 22:30

H&M all the way, ds loves his he even has a jacket with them.

LynetteScavo · 10/10/2011 22:31

Eh? I need a link.

I'm not getting this thumb hole thing.

What's it for?

Hitch hiking?

chillyigloo · 10/10/2011 22:36

Hmmm ... Can't see any thumb holey ones on the H&M website, but I'll pop into a store at the weekend. If nothing else, i do love having a nose around H&M Grin Always seem to buy something I didn't know I needed!

Hadn't thought about TK Maxx - Definitely will have a look in their too.

The kids shouldmake the thumb holes themselves. Rough and ready look.

BornToFolk · 11/10/2011 16:26

Thumb holes rock! The sleeves are slightly longer so the thumb can poke through. It keeps the hands a bit warmer without gloves, and if you put the over gloves, it helps to keep them in place (and not get lost...)

belgo · 11/10/2011 16:27

I think I've seen a fleecy jumper with thumb holes in H&M.

CroissantNeuf · 11/10/2011 16:28

DD has a H&M fleece with thumb holes (bright pink, zip-up but ho hood) but its about 2 years old so they probably don't do that particular one any more

belgo · 11/10/2011 16:30

Skiing fleeces generally have thumb holes.

WowOoo · 11/10/2011 16:44

Polarn o pyret do fleeces and a jumper with thumb holes. Bought these last year, so not sure if they'll be in stock now. Pricey.

exexpat · 11/10/2011 16:49

DD has one from Uniqlo, though I think it is an adult XS rather than a children's one. Lightweight, lots of colours. But that was a few months ago.

LynetteScavo · 11/10/2011 17:04

How on earth did I get to this age without knowing about thumb holes!?

notevenamousie · 11/10/2011 17:12

Cycling tops do usually too.
