Can you help me find this unfindable babydoll 60's sort of thing?

I know what I want, but it's not out there unless I trawl vintage fairs but i want it for when we go on hol in two weeks...

You know the 60's sort of short tulle / chiffony babydoll nighties that 60's housewives would wear, high thigh length , straps but no structure under bust, just sheer tulle straight down so they drape over boobs and just look .. floaty?

Pref a pale colour, the sheerer the better, and if you can push the boat and and find the big feathery trim at the botom the better!

Hi Groak, I bought one earlier this year. It was for a show I was doing and had to be vintage.

I searched eBay and most websites that sold vintage nightwear. I eventually found one at Rokit (easy to find by google). Mine is baby pink, with gathered bust, secret support & floaty. It fitted me perfectly too, I am quite tall & didn't want a cheek skimmer. It comes to just above my knee. I'm a size 16 (I think the vintage sizing says 42"). It was £35 ...a bit steep I know.

Northumberland lass, thanks for the offer, the only thing is I am barely pusing 5ft tall so if your babydoll comes to just above your knee, it will be mid shin on me and make me look like a victorian child going to bed. Not quite the look i was after, or dh

OMG - I had one of these back in the '60s, when I was about 8! My baby-doll nightie consisted of 2 layers of floaty nylon in a lovely shade of sky-blue, patterned all over with roses, and had a deep flouncy frill around the bottom. I thought it was THE MOST beautiful thing I'd ever seen and felt like a princess in it. I used to wear it with a matching blue satin ribbon bow in my hair.

It was an extra-small adult size. I was very tall and well-built for my age, so it was about knee-length on me.

Thanks for all the posts, the favourite I like best is the pink one bysaoirse86, it's that wispy floaty unstructured thing dh likes , plus i have very big saggy boobs so anything that your boobs are supposed to sit 'in' like cups etc are sat on my chest while my boobs roll underneath them!
