I know, I know, I should never have expected it to be anything good. Write up in the Guardian:

Is it just me who thought that, um, if you have 100-200 to spend on a dress, it's not especially hard to find one, and the real 'gap in the market' is finding decent grown up clothes for less than than? What did you think to it?

I think it just proves how difficult it is to produce a stylish, well-cut and high quality range of clothing and still make a profit. I think we live in an era of wanting it all and not realising what things really cost. Sorry to rant. For what it is worth I think a lot of thought has gone into the collection and it works well.

Yes, that's true - maybe I am being harsh. I agree it's better to buy something lovely for 150 than something shoddy for 45 (and more ethical sometimes too). It's just I would have liked some acknowledgement that these prices aren't really 'gap in the market' territory and I didn't see anything I loved in those pictures. Is it that different from trailing round Whistles/Karen Millen/Jigsaw?

Maybe the cut is lovely, I'll hold out hope!

There have been a few threads discussing this, I'm not bowled over by it tbh, but then I disagree with Mary that there arent any shops catering for the over 40s already. With a few notable exceptions, I think most shops are fair game, its just that a 40 something would style a blouse (for example) differently to a 20 something iyswim. I didnt see anything terribly different in her collection that Id splash out on. Hasnt quite lived up to the hype imo

Why, if you are marketing these at women in their 30s and 40s, do you use models with no body fat and no boobs?

I loved everything she was wearing in episode one. Can she not just sell that stuff? Though she is very slim so might not work on everyone.

My mate tried that dress on in black gg and it was a bit weirdy. cut strangely across neck. i wasnt impressed with the range in the shop- lots of patch pocket blouses. the best stuff was from different designers. Still v v £££

I watched her on TV this week with high hopes, but looking at the collection on the website my heart sank - very disappointing. I think Mary looks great, but what looks great on her wouldn't necessarily look great on everyone else her age and I think the collection just looks like her wardrobe. Maybe she spotted a gap in the market for her (and people who look like her), but I'm not sure it's what everyone else is looking for her. I wouldn't buy a single thing on there. That dress looks OK ggirl, but the neckline is far too high imo and for that price you'd certainly have lots of choice elsewhere.
