What colour nails for autumn and winter?

That's it really.

I normally have reds or very dark colours in winter.

Anyone do differently?

Is there a must have colour this year?

Have been reading in a lot of industry magazines that midnight blue is the way forward this autumn/winter :)

AnnetteProfit · 07/10/2011 15:36

agree
its supposed to be dark granite witih glitter

not so sure

Don't know what's hot, but I have a nice polish from Barry M (cheapo) called 'Chocolate Brownie' - as you imagine, it's a lovely creamy brown with a very slight hint of grey. It needs 3 coats but easy to apply.

here they are doing A/W catwalk colours

red or aubergine colour

Denim blues seems to be fashionable. Chanel autumn colours are all blues.

However, I don't do 'out there' nail fashion Smile

I'm going for beige or caramel. Essie have some nice colours.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/10/2011 17:46

No idea what's 'in' but I currently have -

a light grey cement colour
a sort of dead fingered beige
dark brown
medium brown
dark grey
navy

stripeybump · 07/10/2011 17:48

Rimmel Lycrawear in Celebrity Bash is a lovely really dark red.

I keep meaning to paint my nails but need to clean the bathroom first. Thing with autumnal dark colours, they need to be fresh and unchipped - I need to be a lady of leisure.

TheMitfordsMaid · 07/10/2011 17:52

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/10/2011 21:25

I still pine for a pale blue glittery one I had when I was 14. I used to always volunteer to be the victim in First Aid at Guides with it on!

southeastastra · 07/10/2011 22:01

have you seen the \link{http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-61MpsuyVJl0/Tl5vNI-J_TI/AAAAAAAAAjc/jOkOSstvnhI/s1600/opi-muppet-inspired-nail-polish-collection.jpg\opi muppets collection} remus Grin

1gglePiggle · 07/10/2011 22:03

I want to try the foil effect Barry M colours in gold and silver. There's also a Nails Inc one where you use a magnet to create a pattern, anyone tried that?

GreenEyesandNiceHam · 07/10/2011 22:08

Creamy grey round my gaff

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/10/2011 22:29

That blue is v v similar to the one I had! Don't think I'd wear it now though - am far from 14. In fact, I am now 14 in reverse. How did that happen?!

doinmybest · 07/10/2011 22:53

I have read somewhere its greys/coffee/caramel. I think for a day time look they go with anything. I still stick to my raspberrys / purples if Im feeling a bit bland!

polyhymnia · 07/10/2011 23:36

My favourite grey, Essie's Chinchilly.

Havingkittens · 08/10/2011 10:45

Rich dark purples are good to. YSL have a lovely one in their latest collection. Think deep jewel colours. Purple, blue, teal, garnet etc.
