We need a handy man.

RickGhastley · 06/10/2011 18:13

I know of these people... some friends had them quote for some fitted bookshelves.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV expensive!

KatyMac · 06/10/2011 18:32

You can do it with kitchen larder cupboards & ordinary rectangular kitchen cupboard door (overlapping)- which would be cheaper

Or my dad did it many years ago with trolleys & painted MDF

NewChoos · 06/10/2011 18:33

We need Katy's dad! Grin

KatyMac · 06/10/2011 18:45

Me too - but he is just post his 5th lot of back surgery so won't be MDFing for a long time Sad

But things like

this
thiss
or this

Could be combined to fit under the stairs - maybe with a curtain to cover them?

LaurieFairyCake · 06/10/2011 18:49

drool at the stair porn

However I live in a cupboard and currently my 6ft sofa is under the stairs in my cupboard tv room.

NewChoos · 06/10/2011 18:55

oh your poor dad Katy. Hope he has a good recovery.

veryconfusedatthemoment · 06/10/2011 19:08

Wow - absolutely gorgeous. As is the floor!

MaeMobley · 06/10/2011 20:19

I wish I knew how much it was. So sensible.

Pigleychez · 06/10/2011 20:32

Could a carpenter do something similar as a bespoke piece? Still be expensive no doubt but less then that company i'm sure.

mirpuppet · 06/10/2011 21:25

Lovely -- truly style & beauty.

KatyMac · 06/10/2011 21:25

Thanks NewChoos

FIFIBEBE · 06/10/2011 21:31

That company quoted me £15,000 for fitted wardrobes. Got somebody else to do it for 2K. There projects are beautiful though. Have seen some of their work and am jealous.

scrappydappydoo · 06/10/2011 21:40

Crikey fifi - when you said 'fitted wardrobes' - did they think you said 'small extension'

chickchickchicken · 06/10/2011 21:44

pigley - yes, a carpenter could definitely do similar. friend's dh is a carpenter and the cupboards in her house are amazing Envy
