Silk dress/static

this is such a random question:

Have seen a pure silk dress on eBay. It's lush. Before I bid, if I wear it with opaques will I spend the entire time unsticking it from my tights and trying to get rid of static, worrying about my capacious bum being on view and hence kicking myself for buying the blimmin' thing?

Not if you wear a slip. I wear a silk negligee thing as a slip and double-silk it up. I think slips are underappreciated - you can get a perfectly good one in M+S for eight quid - really plain. A full slip will give you a nice line, no cling to anything or weird line where the tights start/bra strap gouge (that might be just me though).

Thank you v much, am sorely tempted to buy it but why doesn't the silk slip stick to the tights?

Sometimes it does a bit but the dress doesn't stick to the slip.

if you put hand cream on, let it soak in and then rub your hands on the tights it kills the static. hairspray also works! Or use a synthetic slip.
