I'm having my first ever....ahem...intimate wax tomorrow morning.

It's the all off bar the landing strip type.

Can any of you professionals or seasoned waxees help a gal with the following questions?!

1. How long should the hairs be for the best possible result?

1. Is it the norm to keep your knickers on? What are the best type to wear?

1. Is it really the norm to have to get on all fours for the.....rear area ?!

1. How painful is it? Am planning to take a couple of ibuprofen before I go.

1. Is it embarrassing?

1. How long does it take for any redness to go down?

Am a bit worried about the hairs being too long (I've stopped shaving for the last few weeks) but have read most places trim you if that's the case? Don't want to trim it myself in case I end up not leaving enough for the wax to be viable.
