they only offer credit notes for returns if you simply changed your mind. no cash refunds at all ( this is from stores)

They don't even have to do that.

No store has to.

The only time anyone has a right to return and refund is if the product is faulty.

it's a bit mean, but fairly standard. legally they don't have to refund at all if you simply change your mind

Plenty of stores only offer credit notes, its all they need to do legally. Their returns policy should have been on display somewhere near the till.

If I'm ever in doubt about buying something I always ask what their policy is on returns as I don't like being beholden to a credit note.

Yeah, they don't have to. Online they have to - 7 days is all they have to give but they must refund you, they can't offer credit notes for that, but in person they can. Pricks.

Still they miss out on "speculative buying" if people know...people will ummm and ahhhh about making a purchase so much more so all fool them.

I wouldn't buy anything if I couldn't return them and get a refund. I bet they miss out on a lot of sales.

Most of them are hideous, but not the pretty wants I want

Don't buy them - they are akin to fly mols.

They do close a gap in the market, sort of (though there are other options these days) but I'm surprised to see them churning out the same sort of styles as they were 5 or 6 years ago. They haven't moved on in any way. They are very £££ for what you get.

I had a pair a couple of years ago and think they're dull styles and very poor quality for the £££

Report
TattyDevine · 05/10/2011 20:33

Yes, they are dull and unimaginative. There's no mega slouchy style, no unusual colour or pattern, not much variation in terms of heel or toe shapes etc.

I guess its a stock thing, they have to stock or be able to supply each size in lots of different calf widths too so from a cash flow point of view that would give the company problems if they then stocked a lot of unconventional or niche styles that might not fly off the shelves so quickly.

Well funnily enough I have got tiny shins too (33) and my Toast riding boots are the only ones that fit well out of all my high boots.

So might be worth a look, if they still do that style, not sure if they do...I'll see if I can find them

these

They sell the same style at the Spanish Boot Company I think but will be £££
