dying hair

I need to dye my head today i have to do it on dry hair - but it needs washing - am i best to do it on unclean hair or wash and dry it then dye it?

unclean will be ok

I would wash it. Surely if it's at all greasy the dye is less likely to take.

its best to wash your hair the day before you dye it, and dont condition it.
