How much does it cost to get a dress taken in?

And is it worth doing or do they never look quite the same as the next size down would?

Got this dress today in both colour ways.

The black is the perfect size, but I prefer the other colour way, but sold out in my size so bought size up praying it would fit.

It looks ok on but the smaller size looks fab.

Do you think it will be able to be taken in?

Or do I just keep the one that fits even though the pattern isn't as nice?

It depends how complicated it is, mil had a dress done just taking the side seams in and that was £15, I had a dress done that was side seams, zip taken out as part of that and the shoulders taken up and it was £32. Same shop.

But it fits me like a glove.

I think they'll have to take the waistband out and take in the side seams so reasonably complicated.

Waah, not sure the dress is worth nearly £100!!

Mine was a simple black shift dress so I know I will get plenty of wear out of it. Patterns date more easily ime.
