I've been looking about for winter coats and everything's just a bit...meh..

I've tried all the obvious shops and googled it to death but nothing's doing the trick. I'm hoping some of you lovely ladies will have a very clever idea pretty please Grin

(Cos it's probably quite relevant.. I'm 21, fairly tall, a size 14-16 and want to spend up to £100 put preferably more like £60 if pos... Hmm )

TIA Grin

You'll learn to love it, they all do Grin

Mango ones weren't that great, TBH.

swallowedAfly · 29/09/2011 23:53

i'm so glad you like them (how nutty is that?). i think they're both nice but would probably go for the shorter one with the low waist and interesting collar - it is smart but it's still got a bit of quirk you know? you're too young to go tooo serious i'm thinking.

swallowedAfly · 29/09/2011 23:53

even tempted to get it for myself though i'd probably cop out and order black.

swallowedAfly · 29/09/2011 23:55

i don't like the back of asos one and also feel like you'd be pretty restricted in what you could wear it with. pick my coat

Trygg · 29/09/2011 23:57

i really like the shorter one-know a dilemma is im supposedly getting winter boots which i dont know if theyl be brown/balck... (also most of my boots are brown/tan) so is it best getting purple (which is my favourite colour, or black because i have trillion lovely bright scarves that will look tat with purple....)

that message was a heap of grammatical tat but im tired so please forgive!

right to pick your brains - the north face middle aged walker coat is going back but i could still do with something that i can walk the dog with in damp weathers without being too hot underneath as i really do stomp through the fields.

this looks kind of cool and nice in the pic but is it going to look like a granny anorak in the flesh do you think?

Trygg · 29/09/2011 23:58

now they'll *a trillion

goddamit

OP posts:
swallowedAfly · 30/09/2011 00:00

see now this is where you can't rely on me because i should tell you purple - the purple is a nice statement and it makes the coat. i know exactly what you mean though and went through the exact same thought process of oh but i could get the black and i've got lovely colourful scarves etc. you should go purple but i know practicality would win out on me so i'm a hypocrite.

tethersend · 30/09/2011 00:00

Actually, SaF, you might like this mango one... CnP the link:

swallowedAfly · 30/09/2011 00:02

still comes up as a page error grrr

has it got a name i can search?

Trygg · 30/09/2011 00:03

right your probably aiming this at tethersend (who i imagine to be a style guru who just wafts about looking stylish), but imho its nigh on identical to my nans coat Blush .... could you not look at getting one of the more trendy waterproof thin coats to put over layers or does that defy the point?

OP posts:
tethersend · 30/09/2011 00:03

relaxed fit quilted anorak

tethersend · 30/09/2011 00:05

Yes, yes I AM effortlessly stylish. ALL THE TIME.

Well done, Trygg Grin

i like that one tethers but think it would be too hot for walking in.

that's my fear it is too near a granny coat.

think i give up for now - it's gone midnight and i'm talking coats. go for purple trgg! it will ooze confidence.

Trygg · 30/09/2011 00:11

also if your stomping away with the dog, would it not be better to layer up as the weather dictates than wack on a pretty waterproof? topshop/new look atc did lepoard/flowery/bright ones but i cant find any blummin links :/. i say this as someone who only got my dog in april so have only had pleasant sunny walks-so am probs talking out my arse!
