I have been dying (sp?) my hair light blonde for years using home kits. I usually make an attempt at highlights which in reality means I just dye the hair on top, not all of it and make it a bit stripey (I'm very low maintenance!) Now fancy going a bit darker so have bought a dark blonde shade to try. Just want to check that this is going to be ok? I have about 1 inch of root which is dark brown plus darker hair underneath. Should I continue with 'highlight effect' or just bung it on. I've only ever gone lighter hence my caution.
