how long do perfumes last?

my chanel no5 is yrs old ,like over 5 yrs , can't remember when I got it.
got a whiff of it in boots today and thought , mmm that smells mucho nicer than mine
so do I need to chuck it out?

I think it depends on how they are kept - in sunlight, in the bathroom. If it smells dodgy then chuck it.

kept in cupboard
but yeh doesn't smell dodgy..just not as nice as new stuff
so will chuck I guess
