So university term starts again tomorrow (but I don't have classes until Tuesday). Outfit is all sorted : my favourite <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=hobbs+blue+dress+with+birds&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1024&bih=509&tbm=isch&tbnid=tnOSXYPikXQ3uM:&imgrefurl=www.stylecompare.co.uk/product/nw3-by-hobbs/nw3-portico-dress-blue&docid=FFgr9mCIMzBtFM&w=300&h=400&ei=ZVx_TpOEA4qv8gPy9vmQAQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=141&page=2&tbnh=124&tbnw=93&start=13&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:13&tx=79&ty=45" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hobbs dress with a black skinny suede belt because it's a bit gapey at the waist, black opaques and black pumps (don't care if they don't go. I live in black opaques and pumps. You can try and convert me if you really want though).

Nails. I have OPI <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.nailjunkie.com/wp-content/uploads/OPI-dating_a_royal.jpg&imgrefurl=www.nailjunkie.com/opi-dating-a-royal/&h=347&w=500&sz=150&tbnid=HDIEl1q603WQaM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=130&prev=/search%3Fq%3DOPI%2Bdating%2Ba%2Broyal%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=OPI+dating+a+royal&docid=q_k0XjX_cNHbiM&sa=X&ei=C19_TtSsFcrK0QXCv6m9CQ&ved=0CDMQ9QEwAQ&dur=1265" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dating a royal which I think is a bit matchy-matchy, <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.alllacqueredup.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/opi-cuckoo-for-this-color-swatch-swiss-fall-2010.jpg&imgrefurl=www.alllacqueredup.com/2010/07/opi-swiss-collection-fall-2010-part-1-swatches-review.html&h=619&w=475&sz=358&tbnid=cqCN6d1SDMMv2M:&tbnh=90&tbnw=69&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dopi%2Bcuckoo%2Bfor%2Bthis%2Bcolour%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=opi+cuckoo+for+this+colour&docid=3CHHbJAJjI0GyM&sa=X&ei=D19_TqLyFoWn0AWb99zTCQ&ved=0CEwQ9QEwAg&dur=2297" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">cuckoo for this colour, coney island cotton candy, and the nice stems minis <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=opi+minis+nice+stems&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1024&bih=509&tbm=isch&tbnid=EHPaYHx79uJBiM:&imgrefurl=www.hellcandy.com/2011/08/pedi-perfect-polish-by-opi.html/opi-polish3&docid=sbl1brOHnBfqRM&w=600&h=390&ei=Ul9_Tu7cCYiq8QOm8d2VAQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=701&vpy=194&dur=813&hovh=181&hovw=279&tx=141&ty=111&page=3&tbnh=131&tbnw=165&start=20&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:20" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here.

I'm thinking probably just the coney island cotton candy, but think third from the left of the nice stems ones might be good? The peachy one?

I know there are bigger problems in the world (and indeed on S&B), but I want to start the year feeling "right".

Also, if you want, what colours are you wearing at the moment?

Cotton candy is my favourite.

warmandwooly · 25/09/2011 19:38

I am currently wearing a pale pink one from Jessics (purchased cheaply at TK Maxx) tomorrow I plan on wearin the free Mavala one that i got from Elle magazine. Its grey. I am also planning to wear my Chanel purpley/grey colour bought last year.

beverleyjayne · 25/09/2011 20:13

PastGrace · 25/09/2011 22:50

My sister is meant to be bringing me a Chanel nail varnish as a present when she gets back from holiday - the colour is a surprise! [saddo emoticon]

I think the Coockoo for this colour would look lovely with the electric blue dress. If not that, the peachy one. (Bright red or coral would look nice too if you have any)

SueNarmy · 26/09/2011 09:38

you are a saddo planning your outfit!bllues and greens vile

go for orly hot shot

Havingkittens · 26/09/2011 11:56

"bllues and greens vile" Your opinion, but necessarily gospel! Blue and green are analogous colours (ie. next to each other on the colour wheel) so work very well together. The opinion depends on whether you have more classic taste or if you like colour blocking which is very fashionable at the moment.

celticlassie · 26/09/2011 12:03

I'm wearing Topshop's <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=topshop+gone+fishing&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rlz=1T4GGHP_enGB426GB426&tbm=isch&tbnid=Y5u8krzz7oGMeM:&imgrefurl=www.polyvore.com/nails_in_gone_fishing_new/thing%3Fid%3D33729196&docid=jDD-YqVSTheYFM&itg=1&w=300&h=300&ei=n1uATunbDo_Ssgah2Kg4&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=178&vpy=286&dur=3619&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=68&ty=131&page=1&tbnh=144&tbnw=144&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0&biw=1280&bih=634" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gone Fishing which I love.

PastGrace · 26/09/2011 14:13

Ooh, I've been looking at You Don't Know Jacques - how dark is it? The pictures online seem to vary quite a lot. That revlon one is fab, thanks!

Havingkittens · 26/09/2011 22:59

I meant not necessarily gospel, obviously. I can't seem to type properly these days!

I have You Don't Know Jacques, it's really nice.

SueNarmy · 27/09/2011 07:00

Depends on layering. Sure it looks darker this year

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 27/09/2011 10:14

With that dress I'd go for a darkish grey, a yellow or a deep orange (NOT coral, actual orange, like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=nails+inc+chancery+lane&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=XiU&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1222&bih=665&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=Drz2wjKx7qElbM:&imgrefurl=www.ravencosmetics.co.uk/Nails-Inc-London-Nail-Polish-Chancery-Lane-10ml&docid=orOWISi8cjNvHM&w=336&h=393&ei=kpOBTs2WC4rMsgaOg7iZDg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=642&page=1&tbnh=148&tbnw=127&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=53&ty=70" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nails Inc's Chancery Lane.

And I think black tights and shoes with a blue dress looks dowdy. Grey opaques? Dark silver/grey shoes?

PastGrace · 27/09/2011 13:38

Sorry, I have a thing about my legs so the black tights are non negotiable. I love that colour though, and I live just round the corner from Chancery Lane so very appropriate!

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 27/09/2011 18:37

Dark grey opaques do the same job as black, just look a bit less heavy and dowdy with a blue dress ...

PastGrace · 27/09/2011 18:43

Where from? I did try some from M&S and they weren't quite dark enough and I felt like I was in an elephant costume Sad

Ive got some from Gap, footless ones (although they may well come in footful too). Nice dark grey and they're cotton rather than manmade materials.

trixymalixy · 16/10/2011 21:20

Love that Hobbs dress!!
