leather shorts

I have an urge to treat myself to a pair for my next girlie night out dancing. thick black tights and a silky top, shoe boots. thumbs up? or thumbs down? p.s Im a size 12, 5'5)

Thumbs down from me - just a shade too close to lederhosen.

Not keen myself. Wouldn't they give you a very sweaty crotch if you went dancing in them?

A bit too blouson imo, try something like these or these for a cleaner line...

If i go with the brown dont i have to have brown footwear? I always have issues over tights, handbags & shoes with other colours of leather?

No way. I'd go either black top, tights and shoes to really highlight the shorts, or you could go pale nude silk shirt, brown tights and then bright shoe boots....in a mulberry or green...depends what you have? You don't have to match handbag and shoes IMO, as long as tones are the same..:)
