A swing coat or a duffle coat?

Swing coats don't tend to come with a hood which I prize for rainy days, but they look so elegant with anything.

Duffle's have those lovely big hoods and are more practical, but they lack that lovely elegant 40's look that makes you stand out.

Practicality or elegance?

I already have a navy military style cape and a formal black Reiss coat.

Meant to be a verrrry cold winter and it sounds like you have a couple of smart coats already, I'd go for the duffle coat. Actually I'd not go for the duffle coat as I think they tend to make grown women look like Paddington bear so instead i'm going for a Boden Rainy Day mac

I wanted to get a mac, but my proportions never fit into one well Sad

Ha! I hadn't figured the Paddington Bear look into the equation.
