I have been using the Clinique "tinted moisturiser" this summer, it is far more of a light makeup than a normal tinted moisturise and looks very good indeed. I'm going to continue it on in the autumn and will only revert to the thicker stuff in the square bottle (can't remember what it is called) if I'm looking a bit ropey when it gets very cold.

Housewife2010 · 22/09/2011 23:16

That's terrible. I've used that for the last 10 years. Clinique are always discontinuing my favourite products. Liz Earle has just brought out a tinted moisturiser & thelr stuff is good. If you ring them they'll probably send you samples to try.

Thanks - I will try that. Have also used it for the last 10 years, am so disappointed it's gone. Along with Clinique Angel Red lipstick...

I like clinique but they seem to always be discontinuing products, i managed to get an extra tube of the almost make up which i'm still using, the ebay prices are too high so when i'm out, will start using the new tinted moisturiser, i had a sample its nice but more like a foundation i think.

LondonGirl232 · 20/10/2011 20:28

I was disappointed too as I was a long time fan of Almost Makeup. So much so that I started a facebook page to bring it back - www.facebook.com/pages/Bring-back-Clinique-Almost-Makeup/219476491396447 It's already got over 650 fans!! in the meantime, I've been trying No7's Essentially Natural mineral foundatoin which seems pretty good so far (and a bit cheaper!)

sevenoften · 20/10/2011 20:41

Another disappointed user. But the girl at the counter got me to try the tinted moisturiser and I found it roughly the same. It's not what I would call a moisturiser at all, frankly. I think it's a pretty good substitute.

2wwmadness · 20/10/2011 20:48

Clarins new tinted moisturiser is amazing!

OldBride · 20/10/2011 22:01

Have you tried Garnier Blemish Balm? It has been discussed on these pages. It's a bit 'damper' than almost makeup - out the tube - but if you give it a couple of minutes to dry without touching it, it's pretty good. £10 a tube from Boots.

LondonGirl232 · 21/10/2011 17:34

Hi 2wwmadness & OldBride - are the products you mention hypoallergenic? I seem to be allergic to everything !?

OldBride · 21/10/2011 21:12

It doesn't actually claim to be hypoallergenic, but it does sell itself as a 'balm' i.e. soothing. Check out this article. You can also order free samples at Garnier's BB website, it won't stop you breaking out if you're allergic, but at least you won't have spent £10.00

Geordieminx · 21/10/2011 21:24

They did this with their gentle light foundation too.

Now use Bobbi Brown skin

Clinique have also discontinued Stay true foundation - i have used this for years with almost make up for natural days.If i wasn't allergic to everything else i would switch brands but every time i do this i get a sore red or spotty face.Secondly how come the beige in Stay True doesn't match the beige in the new recommended substitute. The substitute is a couple of shades darker which is really annoying when ordered online.Especially when you phone the 'helpline' for advice and get told by the operator than they're not trained to offer advice on foundation colours ,wtf?.
However the new laser focus foundation is pretty good and quite light on.But not quite as light as almost makeup.

misspentangle · 22/10/2011 21:19

You could try Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. It's more expensive than the Clinique but you don't need much and a tube seems to last forever.

Clinique always seem to be discontinuing lipstick and lip gloss shades too. Just when I find one I like, it disappears....

mummy2munchkin · 22/10/2011 22:00

They do a pore minimiser in clarins and benefit do poressential which I think is ace to fill them in with balm if they are particularly large like mine. Although another lady on here said she didn't like that so try before you buy.

Keep an eye on brandalley.com because they always sell off clinique stuff and more than likely the discontinued products. In Bicester at the make up shop they also sell clinique so they may have it there but ring and ask, can't remember what it's called it will say on the website....hth

DeliriousTante · 22/10/2011 22:22

I treat myself to a tube of this every birthday. Was gutted to find it discontinued this year. If they discontinue my mascara I will boycott them forever!

I only recently found out that Clinique had discontinued the Almost Makeup. The replacement is awful! Dry feeling, orange-y looking. The best color match I could get to Almost Makeup Shade 1 (Fair) at Clinique was their Perfectly Real line Shade 2... but it's more coverage, not a perfect match, and just generally not as good. I bought Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer, but it's less coverage than I'd like. I am having trouble finding something that matches the coverage of Almost Makeup - not too little, not too much. I'm interested in Garnier blemish balm, but I can't find it available in the United States. I may order it from the UK, but I'm guessing it will be less coverage than I'm looking for. Clarins tinted moisturizer gets horrible reviews on their website. Has anyone found anything that matches Almost Makeup in terms of coverage?

moaninlisa · 28/10/2011 19:49

I loved Stay True the sales girl recommended replacement not as good- they also discontinued three little soaps -the single bar goes sludgey too quickly-
