denim skirts and what to wear with them?

ok so i'd like a new denim skirt to wear with my new boots. i'd like one above the knee but not a mini one. does anyone know where i can get one? i don't want to flash anything when i sit down!

Also, what to wear with the denim skirt? just a t-shirt? jumper?

Ive seen a nice one in Fat Face and one in Dorothy Perkins. I'll wait with interest to see what suggetions there are for what to wear with it.

I own the fat face one, it's nice with thick tights and boots, I have flat brown knee-highs.

I own a Hilfiger one I also wear thick tights and knee high boots :)

I brought one from Hobbs last year which is a bit like this It looks great with a vest or t-shirt and a cardi over it. I'm hoping in the winter it will look great with a polo neck, thick tights and boots.

I would say it depends on what the boots are like - a biker boot would demand a very different top than a thigh high stiletto for example :-)

School run/shopping - plain well cut t-shirt and a chunky knit with thick tights

Ladies lunch - Well cut shirt and a showy necklace

Just a thought...

thanks! i have kind of biker boot boots iyswim. does anyone know of any skirts that are slightly shorter than the ones linked to. i like the style of them but just not the length.

I have that Dorothy Perkins skirt - in fact I bought a second one when they were doing 30% off

I always struggle with the top half when I wear my denim skirt. Anything too long/shapeless makes me look like a big lump; anything too fitted and "tailored" makes me feel like I'm in the office. I need to find a middle ground.

what colour tights does everyone wear with their denim skirts

i got mine from fatface - it's just above the knee but not super short cause i've got quite chunky legs.

I bought these navy tights to go with the skirt from White Stuff. Was going to wear them with long boots. I am considering getting black leggings, but am not quite sure about them yet. Anyone else wear leggings with a denim skirt? A friend of mine had that look the other day and she looked great, but I'm not sure if it would suit me.

I wore cropped leggings with my denim skirt a couple of times over the summer. I did notice one day that 8yo DD2 was wearing exactly the same thing.

She looked cute, but I thought I looked a bit like an aging Thai hooker.

i've got brown, green, black and black patterned tights - depends on which boots i'm wearing and what top.. i only wear black tights and boots if i'm wearing black top - normally i wear brown boots and brown, maroon or green tights.
