Anyone ever washed a boden rainyday coat?

have a red one with toggles and its looking a bit grubby. Says its dry clean only so took it in today and its going to cost 8 quid. Bit much as I do tend to get filthy quite quickly. Didn't want to risk washing it as love it and would hate to ruin it. Anyone washed one and it came out OK??

Its a RAINcoat and its dry clean only?

I'd call Boden and ask if you can use Nikwax. Is it waterproof at the moment?

Kittyroo · 21/09/2011 19:48

I guess it should be waterproof and therefore I should be able to wash it! Thought maybe the soap would affect it. I would say it is showerproof as stay dry unless it totally buckets down.

Think I have a rainy day coat, it's spotty with a hood but buttons, not toggles. Anyway, I have machine washed it and it was fine.

I have washed mine and it is now less waterproof, but it is quite old as well!

I read the above and decided to risk it .....it dried overnight and looks super clean! I've had it dry cleaned before and when it came back it didn't look anywhere near as clean as this. I used bio washing liquid without softener but to be honest it was only ever shower proof before so I wasn't that concerned about maintaining the so called waterproofness (is that even a word?!)

Lidl do a great waterproof spray for about £3 if you do need to top up the waterproofness.
