If I'm not supposed to wear

bootcut jeans or leggings, what else should I be cramming my size 14 bum into?!

And I'm 5'3" with huge boobs.

Of course you can wear bootcut jeans and leggings, preferably with a top covering your bum in the leggings! In that parallel universe called Real Life, bootcut jeans are still flying off the shelves, according to my mate who works in a jeans shop. Dress in what makes you feel good :)

"Not supposed to wear"?

WHat, are the MN fashion police going to come round and strip them off your legs while you kick and scream?

MissVerinder · 15/09/2011 23:15

No, the MN fashion police are afraid of my sausage legs :) . I always cover my legging'd bum!

Just from reading a few bits on here, I can understand people not liking leggings, but bootcut jeans? What the jeff is wrong with them? I always wear the right length too- I hate them too short.

I wear leggings but not bootcuts. Try straight leg jeans or just hold your head high as others have said.

You are top heavy and so need to wear something that makes your hips in proportion with your boobs, also drawing in your waist... What that is I don't know but keep it in mind when buying! Perhaps an A-line skirt with some tights? What are those trousers called that come out around the hips and then become skinnier in the leg?

MissVerinder · 16/09/2011 10:26

Melted Carrot trousers!

NO!! Isn't it chinos?

meltedchocolate · 16/09/2011 10:45

Tapered?

meltedchocolate · 16/09/2011 10:45

Peg?

meltedchocolate · 16/09/2011 10:46

Peg? Do good things for a top heavy?

meltedchocolate · 16/09/2011 10:48

Anyway I do know as a top heavy (shoulders not boobs in my case) that a-line skirts put me in proportion :)

TapselteerieO · 16/09/2011 11:17

Top heavy and short, I would steer clear of skirts or be very careful they seem to make me look shorter and dumpier - so it can be a tricky look to pull off. I would stick to boot cuts, skinny flares, leggings, and straight leg trousers.

Dresses are good, you have a few inches on me, so petite clothes are probably a good length on you.

dinkystinky · 16/09/2011 11:20

wear whatever you like - no one thing will suit every one. I am MADE for bootcut jeans as have ridiculously chunky calves so no other style of jeans will fit or suit me. I dont care - I just try to wear what looks and feels good.

Utter crap. The key is to get the cut and length right. Too high a waist and too short and they look mumsy. Book cuts are made for people with bigger bottoms and thighs... the slimming effect on the knee and the wider cuff at the bottom balances it all out. Just go for one that is slightly boot cut.
